The Transformers action figure toy line was king of the American toy world and ruler of the 1980's for most all young boys. I was there. What other toy could be both a car, truck, or plane and then become a robot soldier? Transformers ruled the neo-robot world and X-generation play shelves.

I do, though, remember how costly the darned toy bots were and having to save. The Transformer Optimus Prime retailed for a whopping $25.00 in my town (over six hours of work on minimum wage). Autobots retailed for about $10, so that was where my wallet met my hand in shopping bag harmony.

Many of the Transformers figures here are from my childhood toy collection. I hope you enjoy the photos of the Transformers Generation 1 all the way through the newer Transformers Armada and Energon!
