Brayn 3

Diecast Robot by Shensi Star Mites Diecast Egg

Below are pictures of the egg shaped diecast robot Brayn 3. The toy was made originally in Japan by the obscure company Shinsei, which has a Dolphin logo. At that time there was a comic series known as UFO Command 7 that Brayn appeared in.

Brayn was also released in the U.S. in the late 70's and known as Brain under the Star Mites toy line. This second toy production was by Empire toys and made in Taiwan (or other non Japanese factories.

My favorite egg-shaped robot : ).  He's small and heavy, almost exclusively metal and diecast.  His size is about 4 inches tall.

Shinsei produced this toy as part of the UFO Commander 7 series.  I have seen UFO 7 comics but no TV or anime.

Brayn's eyes rotate around for different expressions.  Kids could just rotate a wheel that juts out of the back of the head.  Arms fold and unfold.  Legs have limited ankle and hip mobility.  If you push the button on the back of the waist the head shoots up; it's spring loaded.
