DX Gakeen

Robot by Sanzen Japanese diecast robot with metal Everywhere

Gakeen falls into the same family tree as the Micronauts toy Jeeg. Takara made those toys, but here we have a diecast made by the obscure company Sanzen. I happen to like Gakeen better than Jeeg and relish the heft of this DX diecast toy.

Above are pictures of the box art and Gakeen anime. The toy measures around 9" in height and is mostly diecast.

Above you can see the red friction wheels in the toy's chest. Once you add on tires and this robot can scoot across the floor.

Above is diecast detail showing the Gakeen Sanzen marking and additional trademark kanji.

Check out the Tonka truck like wheels.

Gakfrtcar.JPG (35726 bytes) Gakeensty.JPG (45200 bytes) Gakeenbk.JPG (28733 bytes)  Gaktire.JPG (28809 bytes)

Above is the funky 70's rim detail. The tires are old-fashoned, but the diecast is heavy enough to pound schnitzels.
