DX Stereo Robot by Popy Toys- The Stereo Unit Robot

The late 70's and early 80's must have been an incredible time to be a toy robot engineer. Let's see, we have Super Robots, car robots, robot dinosaurs, robot planes, hmmm... what else is missing? How about we make a ROBOT STEREO! O.K., so the early Sound Wave toys may have been the start (AM/FM radio robots that became our Transformer Soundwave) but Bandai took it to the extreme. Compoboy was actually an FM stereo component unit that became a robot. The pictures below tell the lurid story.

The boy head appears inside the head once the yellow boy figures are inserted.

Groovy eq's and real-to-real tape players. The tape heads eject as weapons.
