Zanbot Combination Program Jr. robot
by Clover
Zanbot Jr combination sets are about one of the most misunderstood gatti robots out there. There is a version 1 and then a different box art version 2. Pictured below is version 1 of the small combination program robot by Clover.
You will notice that the box art is some of the most intricate, groovy, 70's funk out there for diecast metal robots. No one else had the inclination to put psychedelic checkerboard patterns with toy art and powerful graphics. -Cool;fun; bizarre.
Proportions are so very difficult for collectors to discern. Box size isn't that far off of a 11" by 17" large printer paper. The toy is relatively small. But inside there are some delicate diecast with all the full sized robot features and chrome. Do not mistake this for the much larger DX version robot (note it as Jr).
Combine the toy and the robot stands near eight inches, capped off by a vinyl head that stretch fits over the chrome Zanbo Ace figure. The vinyl takes advantage of exacting paintwork and extra bright touches of color.
As always, Clover has packed in shooting features like firing fists and a chest launcher. Add in chrome swords and chrome hip blades and you have tons of samurai fighting power. |
